TICs on the Move to Higher Profile Locations

TICs on the Move
Three tourist information centres in north east England have recently relocated to new, higher profile locations. They are:
- Darlington TIC which relocated on the 14th June from the old office in Horsemarket to the Dolphin Centre, and now offers ticket booking services for the Civic Theatre and the Arts Centre in addition to all previous services. - Gateshead TIC made the long awaited move to the iconic Sage Gateshead on the 19th June. Location in such a prestigious building will certainly have an impact on the numbers and types of enquiries received by the TIC. Contact them on tel: 0191 478 4222 or email tourism@gateshead.gov.uk.
- Bellingham TIC, Nothumberland has just relocated to the brand new Bellingham Heritage Centre. Whilst work continues apace on the centre itself - which is due to open on the 7th July and celebrates the area's industrial and social history - the tourist information centre is already well and truly open. In all three cases the moves have significantly raised the profile of the centres, allowing more leisure customers and visitors to access their improved services and increasing the exposure of the businesses they support.
