The report, which is published each quarter, summarises the latest research, statistics and investment news to give a clear picture of the tourism industry in our region and comparisons with the rest of the UK. - The North East, along with the South East, has the highest serviced occupany levels across the UK, at 54% averaged from January to May
- Frontdesk businesses have taken £850,000 worth of bookings in our region so far this year
- Investment has not slowed down in the region - 24 new developments have been identifiied over the last three months, many of which are accommodation developments
- Self-catering occupancy is down nine percentage points, compared to the same period in 2007
- Two thirds of attractions have seen a fall in visitor numbers compared to April - June 2007
