Winning Moves, the UK licensee for Monopoly, is getting set to create a Durham version of the world famous game Monopoly.
Melanie Sensicle, Chief Executive of the County Durham Tourism Partnership has this message for Durham based businesses:
"You may have seen coverage in the media recently that Durham is to have its own edition of the world famous Monopoly board game. This is fantastic news and a really exciting opportunity to celebrate all that is good about our county.
County Durham Tourism Partnership is coordinating all the activity in preparing the new game liaising closely with Winning Moves Ltd of London (the UK licensee for Monopoly), securing sponsorship and ensuring county-wide representation on the board.
The launch of the new game is scheduled for October 2009 and it will be sold in national stores including WHSmith's, Tesco and Toys "R" Us.
The final make up of the Board has yet to be decided by Winning Moves but the format is likely to be as follows:
Three squares for each of the following categories: historical interest, sport, retail, local brands, entertainment, educational/professional; two squares for icons; four for transport, two for utilities and a number of other squares scattered across the board.
All squares will feature branding or imagery but sponsorship opportunities are limited. Given anticipated demand these will be on a strictly first come, first served basis.
If you are interested in the Durham Monopoly game and wish to sponsor a square, please contact CDTP's Business Relationship Manager David McKnight, tel no: 0191 383 7428, or email: david.mcknight@cdtp.co.uk.
Sponsors are required to make a financial commitment each year, over three years of production, with no further charge for additional production after that.
Any sponsorship deal will be between your organisation and Winning Moves Ltd and is to be negotiated by CDTP.
We look forward to hearing from you.
