Facebook, Twitter and a host of other social networking sites and blogs will be at the heart of VisitBritain's marketing campaign to tempt tourists to come to Britain ahead of the London 2012 games.
An interesting article in The Independent highlights how "it is hoped the social networking sites and blogs will make potential tourists feel an affinity towards British society" and how VisitBritain are planning to get regions, destinations and cities on board by targeting their blogs and travel websites in the lead up to the 2012 Games.
There's a quote in the article from Culture and Tourism Minister Margaret Hodge who said: "We are now less than three years away from the Games themselves, but we need to have a longer term vision than that. We must focus on the next decade and the potential legacy from 2012".
