'The English are falling in love again with their own land, and they want to read about it more'
This is a line from a recent Times Online article that reported on the Enjoy England Awards of Excellence 2010 ceremony as well as recognising the input that travel journalists put in to celebrating and promoting all that's special about England.
It appears that, although 'travel writers are spoilt' and 'get the opportunity to visit some of the most exotic locations in the world' they also love re-connecting with 'what we really love and cherish about our land' from 'the thrilling diversity of our cities' to 'just a parcel of fish and chips on a pebbly beach'.
This is good news for tourism businesses who benefit hugely from media articles that help promote and spread the word about the upward trend for 'staycations'.
