Flood Support Available for Tourism BusinessesComprehensive support - in the form of funding and practical advice - is now available for businesses affected by flooding or who might be at risk from it.
One NorthEast - the regional development agency for North East England - has made emergency funding and support available to businesses hit by the recent floods. Managed through Business Link North East, the service offers:
Businesses in need of help as a direct result of suffering from flooding should contact Business Link on 0845 600 9006.
One NorthEast has also offered to meet the costs of clearing sheep carcasses where livestock have drowned when the flooding hit. These costs would normally be met by the farmers. A special collection point has been opened at Ewart Newtown Farm, Wooler, where carcasses will be removed for incineration.
