The National Park Authority looks after the landscape, heritage and culture of Northumberland National Park, helping to make it a special place for people to live in and enjoy. They do this by making sure that communities and businesses in and around the National Park are supported with good advice, guidance and funding.
The NPA aims to empower local people to generate and run new ventures of all kinds that will enrich the economy and life of the community. The National Park Authority is there with a helping hand to find information and contacts, fulfil environmental and heritage assessments, and apply for funding.
They can provide funding through their Action Areas and the Sustainable Development Fund, both of which encourage new business and social enterprises while helping to lessen the financial risk of new ideas. They can also provide advice on sources of external funding.
