QEST is a scheme aimed at experienced, committed craftsmen and women working in the UK and is designed to further their skills. Funds of between £12,000 and £15,000 are awarded for the purposes of increasing skills, knowledge, experience and training. Funds cannot be used for purchasing equipment, premises or other business costs, they are purely for increasing skill.
Any craftsman or woman that can demonstrate an existing commitment to their craft can apply. Well thought out proposals that clearly demonstrate how the funds will be used to increase knowledge, skills or experience, and what the ongoing benefit of this will be, are more likely to succeed.
