This grant is designed to support and encourage the development of business and employment creating opportunities in Alnwick District. It aims to support the sustainable development of tourism infrastucture and enhance the range and quality of local tourist attractions and services. It will assist small rural businesses involved in providing essential local services in the smaller settlements of the District. Routes into the Grant
Four routes have been designed to access the funding:
Route 1 RBI Business Development Grant - micro-enterprises. Offers a grant of up to £1000 at 25% of project costs. Applicants from Amble East or Clayport wards may apply for up to 50% (maps are available with application pack).
Route 2 RBI Business Development Grant - small/medium businesses. Offers a grant of up to £5000 at 25% for business start-ups or expansions where there is job creation of employed staff.
Route 3 RBI Tourism Grant - grants of up to £1500 are available for proposals which have strong potential to increase the benefits of tourism to the area (excluding accommodation provision).
Route 4 RBI Rural Services Grant - grant of up to £1500 is available at 25% for private sector and 50% for social enterprises that will improve or extend services to rural areas
Each application will be considered individually. There is no automatic right to financial assistance and the Council will not fund works already carried out.
It is the responsibility of each applicant to interpret any relevant legislation and determine the schedule of work to be undertaken.
