Business Link has released a new, very practical guide for smaller businesses on how to make a great case to banks and other lenders.
Developed in conjunction with the major banks, the short guide details how to gather information and take the right approach, what lenders are looking for and the evidence they’ll expect to see.
To download the guide visit this page of the Business Link website.
There are also frequent events, seminars and workshops on raising money – check the Training and Skills calendar or Business Link North East’s event guide to find them. Many are free.

If you have profits of over £20,000 you could save money by trading as a limited company. This Excel sheet allows you to enter your profit figures and see the tax payable as both a sole trader and as a limited company.
This factsheet takes you through taking payments through cash, cheques, BACs and credit/debit cards both on and off line.
