Gain a National RatingA National Accessible Scheme (NAS) rating gives accommodation operators an immediate advantage over businesses offering similar facilities.
The NAS is operated by VisitEngland and Tourism for All UK. The Scheme awards ratings based on the level of access. The NAS is one of the most widely accepted ways of improving access and quality. It helps provide the tourism industry with a more accessible environment. Most importantly, it offers customers an informed choice. It helps them spend less time searching for accommodation that will suit their needs.
The scheme covers camping, touring and caravan parks, serviced and self-catering accommodation. There are standards for visitors with hearing, mobility and visual impairments, and different levels in each category.
Benefits of an NAS rating :
VisitEngland has announced that, for current VisitEngland Quality Scheme participants, the joining fee for the NAS has been waived for the participation year 2009/10. A participation fee does apply, but this has been set as low as possible - from only £42 per year.
An NAS information pack is available free of charge. Completing the self-survey form helps businesses identify any barriers and highlight improvements that can be made. These improvements are often inexpensive. Click here to access.
