VisitEngland's hotel and guest accommodation quality scheme members can now be commended for their exceptional breakfasts with a new Breakfast award.
Sponsored by Kellogg's, the new award recognises hotels and B&Bs within the Quality scheme that offer their guests a quality breakfast, service and hospitality exceeding the normal expectations of their star rating.
The announcement of the first set of awards was early November 2009 with 169 hotels and 523 guest accommodation businesses achieving the Breakfast award.
It means that 'breakfast fan' visitors will be able to search and identify accommodation on the www.enjoyengland.com site where owners, managers, chefs and staff have gone the extra mile with the standard of breakfasts they offer. Pam Foden, Operations and Industry Engagement Manager for VisitEngland, confirms: "We are delighted to have launched an award that recognises and rewards those establishments that make the most of the local produce on offer in their area and create an excellent customer experience each morning at breakfast".
Find out more about the new breakfast award scheme and how to enter, and check out our toolkit pages on Sourcing Locally for more ideas on supporting the local economy and environment.
