People 1st and the UK Skills PassportEach different industry has its own 'council' made up of business representatives, academics, public sector bodies and industry leaders. These Sector Skills Councils take a key role in helping government to understand, shape and support business in these sectors, and, in the other direction, to provide the channel through which businesses get access to the support services government delivers.
