A new development plan designed to keep Durham Cathedral at the heart of economic, spiritual and cultural life in the UK and North East, has been launched.
The Cathedral Development Programme aims to raise funds for projects that support heritage, enhance the visitor experience, promote learning and encourage community engagement.
The plan is expected to cost £7m over its first five years. Fundraising includes new opportunities for individuals, groups, organisations and businesses to support the Cathedral.

The Area Tourism Management Plan (ATMaP) is a plan that turns the regional tourism strategy and County Durham tourism strategy, as well as relevant parts of the regional and sub-regional economic development strategies, into action.
