The regional occupancy survey allows the tourism team to monitor the performance of accommodation establishments on a monthly basis. The survey is carried out with serviced and non serviced accommodation providers.
Monitoring visits to attractions in the North East allows the team to further build up the picture of tourism performance in the North East. Numbers are collected on a monthly basis.
One other survey used by the team to assess business performance is the Tourism Business Panel. We are grateful to the 200 businesses who take part online on both a quarterly and ad hoc basis providing information on visitor profiles, staffing levels and specific topics that may be having an impact on tourism in the region.
