Each year Tourism Network North East organises a range of events.
Some of these events are open only to Network staff and Board members, others are open to a range of Network partners, and some are designed specifically for the tourism industry.
Network events include:
This annual event enables senior members of staff from the Network, along with ATP and North East Tourism Advisory Board members to review the progress of the Network and focus on specific areas of tourism development for the future. See the Network Conference section for more information and copies of the relevant presentations.
See the Network Associates section for more information on who Network Associates are and for details of the briefings.
Held on an annual basis at Temple Park Leisure Centre, South Shields by Tourism Network North East, and the Regional Tourist Board before it, this event provided the industry with an opportunity to share information and distribute marketing literature. Whilst local Literature Distribution Days continue to be held across the region, the regional event has been replaced by Tourism Launchpad.
This new and exciting event for 2008 has been developed specifically for the tourism industry and will be launched by Nick Brown MP - Minister for the Region. Taking place in British Tourism Week (Friday 14 March) at Newcastle Racecourse, the focus of the event will be on "What's New" for the coming season.
The event will not only equip tourism businesses with information needed by their visitors but will also enable them to tailor offers and discounts around special events. It will also provide information that businesses could use in their marketing materials and advertising.
The audience for this event will be tourism businesses, local authority tourism officers, staff from tourist information centres, as well as the regional press and media.
