The second Tourism Network North East Conference took place on 16 May 2007 at Redworth Hall Hotel. As with the inaugural conference it brought together senior staff and Board members from across the Network.
To ensure the Network appreciates what the region has to offer, delegates were given a whirlwind virtual tour "Around the Region" which highlighted the best of each sub region.
One of the key areas of discussion was the future funding of the Network to ensure it continues to deliver improvements to the region's tourism offer. However the main workshop activity was focussed on the region's heritage. Four workshops considered how we promote it, how we ensure the visitors' experience of it is interesting and informative, and what support needs to be put in place to improve the offer.
The inaugural Tourism Network North East Conference was held on 28 June 2006. The event, which took place at Centre for Life in Newcastle, brought together Board members from the four Area Tourism Partnerships and North East Tourism Advisory Board, and senior staff from One NorthEast Tourism. The event focussed on three specific issues of particular relevance to the Network: Market Segmentation; Coastal Framework; and Business Support. The presentations from the Conference can be viewed by selecting from the list of related documents on the right of this page.
