visitTeesvalley is a partnership between the Regional Development Agency ONE North East and 5 local authorities and the private sector. It works on behalf of tourism businesses and public agencies to expand tourism, improve visitor experiences and provide leadership and co-ordination of tourism development across Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland and Stockton.

The Cultural Volunteering Project Office's role is to promote the benefits that cultural volunteering can bring to communities, organisations and individuals. You will be responsible for proactively building and supporting local partnerships to champion, develop, and build on, cultural volunteering activity with the aim of supporting the regional employability agenda. Inspiring people to work or volunteer by harnessing skills, encouraging talent and promoting creativity are core elements of this post.

We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic, confident and a self starter with a working knowledge of the arts and cultural sector and the volunteering agencies and services in Tees Valley. You should be able to demonstrate skills and experience in recruitment, marketing, project management and skills/workforce development. You will have excellent organisational and analytical skills, communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships.

The post will be based at visitTeesvalley, Melrose House, Melrose Street, Middlesbrough, Tees Valley TS1 2XF.

We are willing to consider secondments from existing employment.

It works on behalf of tourism businesses and public agencies to expand tourism, improve visitor experiences and provide leadership and co-ordination of tourism development across Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland and Stockton.

The Tourism Business Engagement Officer's role is key to the development of this partnership. You will be the central point of contact for businesses working within the visitor economy, and will have responsibility for implementing the business and workforce support programme. You will also be required to promote and sell the support services of the partnership.

As Tourism Business Engagement Officer you will be working directly with the Commercial Development Manager supporting the preparation, review and successful implementation of the Area Tourism Management Plan.
